Giuseppe Silvestri is Full Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Palermo, and has been Rector of the same university since 1999. For thirty years (1967–1997) he was member of the scientific council of a Research Centre of the National Research Council on macromolecular chemistry and technology at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pisa. Professor Silvestri is a member of the Board of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), and CRUI Delegate for research activities and permanent representative of CRUI in the EUA Council. He is also a member of the Research Policy Working Group of EUA.
