Tove Bull is professor of Nordic (Scandinavian) linguistics at the University of Tromsø, Norway, where she was also rector (1996-2001) and vice-rector (1990-1995). From 1999-2001, Tove was Chairperson of the Norwegian Association of Higher Education. She is involved in different forms of quality assessment at different levels and for different purposes, both nationally and internationally.
