Gerhard Duda is responsible for European research affairs in the secretariat of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) based in Bonn, Germany. He holds a PhD in History (University of Bochum), a master in political economy (University of Toronto, Canada) and an honorary doctorate (University of Ruse, Bulgaria). After completing his studies he worked as Soviet and Eastern European expert in German organisations for educational policies in Germany and in the Russian Federation. In 1995 he joint HRK and has worked there in various fields of higher education and research policy.
