Prof. Guido Vergauwen was born in Flanders. He studied in Louvain, Tübingen and Zurich. He has been the Rector of the University of Fribourg since April 2007. He is co-chairman of the Bologna network of the Rectors’ Conference of the Swiss Universities (CRUS) and member of the Bologna Delegation. Guido Vergauwen is professor of fundamental theology, and director of the Institute of oecumenical studies at the University of Fribourg. His main scientific interests are Philosophy of religion and oecumenism.
