Torbjørn Digernes has been Rector at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) since 2005 and was previously Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology at NTNU. He has worked at various research institutes, including MARINTEK (SINTEF) and the European Space Technical Centre in the Netherlands. He joined the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1984 as an adjunct professor, and later became full professor of Marine Systems Design at NTNU.
