Prof. Dr Guido Langouche is Chairman of the Coimbra Group Executive Board, a position he has held since 2005. From 1995-2005 he was vice-rector of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He has been professor of physics at K.U.Leuven since 1979, specialised in nuclear solid state physics, and is editor-in-chief of the Hyperfine Interactions journal. He was guest professor at the universities of Osaka, Lyon and Kinshasa and post-doc at the universities of Stanford and Groningen, after obtaining his doctoral and habilitation degrees from K.U.Leuven. He is currently on leave of absence from Leuven University, and has been appointed jointly by the Dutch and Flemish Ministers of Education as one of the Board Members of NVAO, the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Agency, his present place of work.
