Dr Wolfgang Mackiewicz works at the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB), where he is director of the Language Centre and honorary professor of English Philology. He is Bologna Advisor to the FUB Präsidium and a national Bologna Promoter. He is the president of the European Language Council, in which capacity he co-ordinated the EU-funded ENLU network project for the promotion of language learning among all undergraduates. He is also the co-ordinator of the third Thematic Network Project in the Area of Languages (TNP3) (Socrates-Erasmus Programme), and a member of the High Level Group on Multilingualism convened by Commissioner Ján Figel’.
