Seán Ó Foghlú has led the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI) since its establishment in 2001. He has led the work of the NQAI in the establishment of the National Framework of Qualifications in Ireland and in its implementation. Seán has also been a member of the working group which proposed the establishment of the Framework for Qualifications of the European Higher Education Area and of the European Commission Expert Group which advised on the establishment of the European Qualifications Framework. Prior to his NQAI work, Seán was the head of policy and planning in the Irish Higher Education Authority from 1999 to 2001.
