Paul Şerban Agachi is Vice-rector of the Babeş-Bolyai University (BBU), Cluj-Napoca, Romania, professor of Process Control at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the same university, and member of the Academy of Technical Sciences of Romania. He has been involved in university management at BBU as a member of the Rectorate since 1996. He was involved in the PHARE programme of reform of higher education in Romania, was a member of the National Council for Higher Education Reform (1998-2000), and was involved or coordinated the elaboration of all the Strategic Plans and the Charter of the BBU. He has worked as visiting associate at the California Institute of Technology, guest professor at Eötvös Lorand University, Budapest, as a UNESCO higher education consultant in the “Oil for Food” programme in Iraq, and as a PHARE consultant in Romania. He has published 8 books and 96 scientific papers.
